Hobcroft Cottage Reviews

Hollie
Generally cottage was nice and well equipped. The shower needs replacing as it doesn't work well - low water pressure and the tray was badly stained/damaged so not nice to use /look at. There are also too many cats counted 9 at one point and they are fed outside with raw bones etc which wasn't pleasant. I don't think you would be able to leave doors / windows open in Summer as cats try to get into property so can imagine it would get hot in the cottage. The cottage is very well located tho with nice walks from door stop and near some attractions e.g. Buxton, Bakewell, Heights of Abraham. There are also 2 very good pubs nearby - Greyhound and Manifold Inn. Response from Holiday Cottages: Thank you for your feedback. We have been advised by the owner that the neighbour, with the cats, has now moved out.
Susan
It was a bit awkward leaving the road to get to cottage , but we managed . The garden is pretty bu we didnt spend much time in it , as we were busy sightseeing ..very comfy bed and nice to have a wardrobe , as so many places just have a rail .
Gwenda
Lovely quiet location with everything you need
Hayley
The cottage was beautiful and well equipped for our stay, everything that we wanted was provided and we couldn't have asked for more
Julia
A lovely cottage with a fantastic view. Quiet, peaceful and idyllic. The neighbour's cats and the neighbour herself are really friendly. Great walks and interesting sights nearby, like Thor's Cave, Lud's Church or Poole's Cavern.
Louisa
A quaint cottage for two in a great location with everything you need. The bed was comfortable and everything worked how it should. The cottage was clean on arrival and the towels were lovely and soft. The only downside would be the neighbours cats! She had many cats which is fine if you like cats and arenâ??t allergic like me! They also come in to the cottage if the door is open. However, that didnâ??t impact on our stay and Iâ??d highly recommend this cottage for any couple wanting somewhere comfortable to stay in a great part of the Peak District.
Sandy
Lovely location offering easy access to all routes. Ideal for a couple. Lovely little garden with great views. The cats next door will join you in the garden and some of them do enjoy a cuddle!

We spent 10 days at Hobcroft Cottage and had a really enjoyable time. Great location, lovely views and superb walks straight from the door. Lovely pub within walking distance with others a few minutes drive away. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Very comfortable bed. We look forward to staying again in the future.

Perfect quaint cosy cottage for two. Stunning Views from the kitchen and bedroom . Very clean and well equipped, providing extras like, foil, cling film, dish cloth/pan cleaner, washing up liquid, wash detergent. A good stack of wood was provided with fire starters too. Comfortable bed, with lovely pillows. Plenty of towels. Well positioned plug sockets in the bedroom. Great location for visiting, Hartington, The Roaches, Tittesworth reservoir and Leek town centre offers a good range of supermarkets, coffee shops and independent shops. Good range of information leaflets provided to help plan your days out.

Hobcroft cottage is in a beautifully situated, within easy location of Hartington, Buxton, Bakewell, Dovedale and many other beautiful areas of the peak district. The cottage is beautifully presented and had everything we needed for our four night stay. The local pub, the Greyhound is within 5 minutes walking distance and is friendly and served great food.. We would highly recommend and will book again.

The cottage is lovely, perfect location for going off and exploring, lots of nice pubs nearby, would especially recommend the Devonshire Arms in Hartington. The cottage is lovely and cosy, has everything that you need to enjoy your stay. The welcome box was a very nice touch, lovely views from the cottage as well. The neighbourhood cats are also very friendly!

Peace and tranquility personified. Great quality accommodation, easy access and friendly hosts. Nice town with easy access to larger towns and everything you could need. Quality bed and bedding. Friendly neighbour cows were nice to look at. Friendly cats next door too. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great week - the cottage is very well appointed and located, and we felt very much at home there. Terry and Sandra provided a lovely welcome hamper and helped clear space for secure bike storage.
Terence
A lovely, very comfortable and well equipped cottage. We enjoyed our stay there. Lovely views.
Wendy
Excellent cottage full of extras you don't always get, soap, tea towels, toilet paper etc.
Colin
Enjoyed our stay. The cottage was cosy and comfortable. Would happily go back for a longer visit. Lovely views from the garden.
Roger
Small but very clean, comfortable, well equipped, cottage. Ideally situated close to Buxton, Bakewell, Leek and Ashbourne. The only drawback was the weather being cold and wet for a holiday in early June. Perhaps could have done with a small table and a couple of chairs but probably nowhere to fit them in.
Paul
Comfortable bed and quality towels.
