A really lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the world. Itâ??s the second time we have stayed here and we were welcomed back like old friends. Weâ??d definitely come again.

Lovely comfortable cottage with genuine friendly hosts. Great location in the middle of peace and quiet but not far to get anywhere by car. Would highly recommend and definitely stay again
Thomas
Very comfortable, well equipped, very quiet, ideal for us.
Martyn
This is a lovely cottage in a quiet and peaceful location. Just out of the village you come to some beautiful scenery. The location of the cottage is perfect for visiting Bakewell and Matlock and the Peak District in general. The cottage is very well equiped and everything has been thought of (it was our second stay). Many different species of birds visit the garden including a pheasant.
Susan
A really lovely cottage with everything you could possible need for a relaxing holiday. Well located for visiting the Derbyshire area. We hope to return again.
Michael
A most excellent accommodation for two people, of any age.
Roger
The owner, Andrew, was there to help us but never intrusive. He had actually built the cottage extension with 2 architect friends and that is why this building is extra special. Its location in the lovely village of Birchover is just right to go in all directions around the Peak District. Altogether a brilliant holiday package.
Alasdair
Lovely cottage, very comfortable, very clean, everything you could possibly need. Bird lovers paradise - counted 8 different species of bird in garden one morning. Owner very friendly and helpful.
G
Lovely cottage, wonderful welcome from the owner, couldn't do enough for us. No need to keep getting in the car with local walks on the doorstep. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend:)
Glenda
We have been to Swallows Nest a few times now and it is an amazing place. We love seeing the Birds, Pheasants, Squirrels in the garden. There are Bird Feeders and you can fill them up from the bag of food that is in the Cottage. Swallows Nest has everything you need, Fridge Freezer, Cooker, Microwave, Dishwasher, TV, DVD player, Log Burner. Bathroom has a lovely walk in shower - very powerful. Plenty of drawer space in bedroom, wardrobe with coat hangers, Hairdryer. There are Books in the living room cupboard should you be a reader. If you require any assistance the owners are only next door and they are very friendly. There are two lovely pubs within walking distance, The Druid Inn and the Red Lion, they both do fabulous food. There are places to walk in the area too should you wish. Thereâ??s a Bus Stop on the Main Street that will take you into Bakewell (not sure of timetable but there is one at the Bus Stop). All in all we have found ourselves a little Gem and canâ??t wait to book again.
John
A very welcoming cottage, cosy but spacious and very well appointed, perfectly situated for bird lovers as the garden is teeming with bird life, and a good base for exploring the White Peak. We will definitely revisit sooner rather than later.
Jayne
Lovely clean and comfortable bungalow with all amenities. Not too far from Matlock for shopping. Views from the property great.
Michelle
This is a lovely, cosy cottage in a great spot. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. We loved the garden, the view, and wonderful birds that visited. The village is pretty and central for many walks.
Glenda
Swallow Nest is the ideal place to relax. It is an annexe to the owners property and it has everything you need to make your stay wonderful. If you need anything just ask Andrew and he will gladly help. We love watching the Birds and Wildlife that visit the garden. Pheasants, Squirrels and an array of Birds are always about. There are two Public Houses within walking distance (The Druid Inn and the Red Lion), both serve gorgeous food and of course drink. The friendliness of the staff is the reason we return to this area. Plenty of walks to do if you like to explore, cottage has leaflets etc so you can see whatâ??s on offer. This place is amazing
Kevin

This is a lovely cottage in a very good location for exploring the Peak District and its popular towns. The cottage is very well equiped with a garden that attracts many species of birds and other wildlife. This is certainly one of the best self-catering holidays we have had. A very helpful and friendly owner too.

Swallow's Nest cottage is perfectly formed, comfortable and the owner is a friendly, helpful host. This is our second holiday in beautiful Birchover, which says it all! An especial delight is the variety of wildlife- notably birds- you can watch while having breakfast walks from the door are excellent, and there's a reasonable bus service to Bakewell or Matlock if you want to be environmentally friendly.
Darren

I spent a wonderful 5 nights at 'Swallows Nest'. It was the perfect base for exploring the Peak District. The owner welcomed me and the moment I stepped into the property I felt at home. It was cosy & clean. It's very comfortable, well equipped and so tranquil. The only sound you can hear is birdsong, the owner left me some seeds for the bird table. It was a joy to sit in the recliner and watch the birds and a squirrel too! Highly recommend Swallows Nest for a relaxing break!
John
Excellent cottage. Very comfortable and warm. The owner very helpful when we had puncture. Highly recommend.
Susan
Lovely clean bright cottage with the added touch of visits from local wild life.
