Hawkfield Reviews

Alison
We stayed for three nights, 4 adults and 2 labradors. The house was beautifully dressed for Christmas and very warm and cosy. The kitchen is very well equipped, excellent shower and such comfortable beds. Lovely visits to Chatsworth and some very muddy walks! Great meal at The Prince of Wales too. Will be booking again. Huge thanks
Paul
Wonderful, comfortable, warm house in an amazing area. The dogs and I enjoyed wonderful walks every day, all straight from the cottage, I didn't use the car once. Fantastic!!
Anthony
The house is lovely, ideally located for Chatsworth and for exploring the peak district. 3 large double bedrooms, a well appointed kitchen, fast broadband and a comfy lounge. Baslow is a peaceful village, with nice pubs, Charlies cafe is great, and you can walk straight to Chatsworth to enjoy walking around the estate. Highly recommend staying here.
Peter
Cottage in a great location for walks from the door.
Janine
We had a lovely stay in Hawkfield. The photos do not do it justice! It is incredibly well positioned for walking Baslow Edge and on to 2 other Edges! Our dog loved her walks from the cottage as there were so many places to explore. The cottage was clean and comfortable- the beds in particular were very comfy and them, with the fact that the location was so quiet, meant that we all slept really well. Baslow offered us the amenities that we needed- shops and meals! We loved the area and found that we could do so many walks within a 30 minute car journey. Great holiday and a super cottage!
Colin
Cottage was great, excellent room sizes and very good kitchen and bathroom.
Janette
My two adult sons and I have just had a wonderful long weekend in Hawkfield, our first in the Peak district. The house was very comfortable and well equipped, it had everything we needed. The views from two of the bedrooms were amazing and the garden was lovely, it was so nice to listen to all the birds singing. There were many walks from the house which were great and we could walk to shops, tea rooms and pubs. Also it is so close to drive to anywhere in the Peaks. We will definitely be back again as soon as possible
Gareth

Adam
Really nice house, lots of space and very well equipped. The house was very clean and comfortable.
Jane
We loved this cottage - it quickly became our 'home' for the week. Lovely setting In Baslow, a super village shop and individual, very comfortable accommodation. Very uneven pathways so not good for anyone unsteady. Generally great!
Andrew
The bedrooms were all comfortable, and cosy. Cottage very clean and to a high standard. Standout features of the cottage was its fully-equipped kitchen, which made it easy to prepare meals during out stay and the secluded mature garden.
Julie
Lovely cottage, very well equipped, location is perfect for enjoying the Derbyshire countryside, visiting local attractions, and walking distance to a number of pubs and restaurants.
Gill
A lovely cottage in a perfect location! Plenty of space for 5 adults and a dog. Local to Chatsworth House, and beautiful walks in the Peak District. Walking distance to Pubs and shops in the village of Baslow. A very enjoyable stay, quiet and cosy.
Beverley
A lovely homely cottage. It's in a great location with short walks to all the amenities that Baslow offers and the gardens are a real feature of the property. It had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay and would definitely book again.
Marie
An amazing cottage in such a wonderful location. A great base to head off on many walks without the need to drive somewhere first. The cottage itself is very well equipped and beautifully presented. All three bedrooms were so comfortable and presented well. The gardens were well kept and a lovely feature. We stayed as a family of four with one pet. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend Hawkfield Cottage.
