Wynns Cottage Reviews

Anne
Good location. Reasonably clean. Comfortable bed.
Susan
Cozy cottage ideally situated for easy access to the Peak District National Park and numerous towns and villages.
Andy
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here, and everything as good as before. Parking was busier than last time, but always somewhere close by, so not a big problem. The cottage has everything needed for a holiday, we found things we hadnâ??t seen last time. The village itself also has everything a visitor needs, 5 places to eat that are all dog friendly, the Italian is a must, a well stocked supermarket, good buses out and about, and is central to everywhere in the Peaks really.
Ingrid
Positives - The cottage is lovely, location is good and setting is very peaceful. Views from upstairs are delightful. It is very well equipped. Negatives - The notices left on all sofas and beds give the visitor an immediate unwelcome feeling. This was unpleasant as there are many positives in the cottage.
Heather
Lovely cosy cottage in a very good location, spotlessly clean.
Barbara
The cottage was very nice very well equipped had everything there for us and comfortable beds.
Gillian
Very cosy cottage in a great location. We're able to park right by the cottage. The kitchen was well equipped The shower pressure was poor but would book again if we wanted to stay in the area. Local pubs were great and we would recommend the pie in the Star
Gwen
Very warm, cosy and well equipped cottage in a lovely village. Great walks from the village and efficientl bus service from Bakewell. Good choice of pubs in Tideswell. We had a lovely festive stay here.
Frances
A cosy well equipped, clean comfortable and an easy walk to centre of village
Kate
This is our 6th year returning to Tideswell and our 5th cottage having stayed in the same one twice. This was our first cottage out of the square and I must say we wouldnâ??t stay out of the square again, this Cottage however was the cleanest
Colin
A beautiful cottage that was very comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed the living area and log fire. The cottage was warm and had plenty of room for the two of us. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. A very quiet and relaxing break enjoying walks in the countryside.
Claudia
Lovely cottage, well equipped, lovely and warm, helpful owner and in perfect spot for exploring the dales.
Thomas
The fireplace was really nice.
Pamela
Best cottage we stayed at in Tideswell. We have been to Tideswell about 5 times now. We found the cottage very clean and welcoming. Thank you for all the extras No scrimping on essential items. Plenty of tea, coffee sugar etc. Easy walk to the village with all you need. We enjoyed the local pubs. Recommend the Star pub and the Italian Sals. The merchants Yard is very nice. The George and the Horse and Jockey are fine too. All dog friendly. Loads of fantastic walking nearby too. Will definitely book again
Leonie
Great location. A lot of beautiful walks nearby. And multiple pubs and restaurants at walking distance. The cottage is very cosy!
Andy
We were 2 couples with a dog on our stay, with 2 cars, and parking was never an issue, one of us always was by the cottage patio, the other a little further up the lane. As the cottage is up above the rest of the village there are great views over the roofs to the church, which you can hear the bells of on the odd occasion. The village itself has everything you need in it really, we used all 3 pubs, the food in one wasnâ??t as good, we thought, an Italian, which was great, a local chippy, that is alway packed, and a fantastic breakfast in the cafe, everywhere is dog friendly, even the locals are friendly. Plenty of local walks and loads of places to visit, which are all reasonably close, Buxton and Bakewell are full of cafes on the street, we were lucky with weather to use them. Would definitely visit again at some point
Jan
This is such a cosy, well equipped property, in a great village with a good choice of nice pubs for eating. Lovely walk at Tideswell Dale, beautiful walk at nearby Millers Dale. Plenty of good places to visit nearby - we went to Bakewell (great pudding!), Buxton and Eyam. We had a super relaxing stay in a really beautiful location.
Vicky
A cosy cottage, well equipped and clean with comfortable beds.
Graham
When I first read about Wynns Cottage I had concerns about parking given some of the comments but this wasnâ??t a problem. There is space nearby and just down the lane. Most who left comments in the guest book were walkers, so a short walk to the car if necessary is no challenge. The cottage itself is cosy and compact, what youâ??d expect from a cottage. Yes, I bumped my head a few times on the low rear passage doorway but thatâ??s my fault not the cottage. The beds and sofas were comfortable. We had no complaints and the cottage is located away from the centre in a very quiet area but still within easy reach of all facilities.
Andrew
Car parking was a nightmare. Original Cottages were misleading in stating that if the space by the cottage was taken then there would be adequate parking opportunities along the road. Not true.
Steve
We loved staying at Wynns cottage, it was very comfortable and central to everything we wanted to do in the Peaks. The kitchen is so well equipped, lovely to have a log burner and a washing machine for soggy clothing. Plenty of hot water and two bathrooms are handy. The village has good facilities, pubs, coffee shop, bakery, great Italian etc and we enjoyed walking to Litton to The Red Lion for dinner. Definitely recommend.
Susan
We had a lovely week in this comfortable, homely cottage. We found it very clean and well equipped. Location wise we walked from the cottage door everyday or used the brilliant local bus service. Couldn't fault our stay even with the snow!
