Apple Tree View Reviews

Dawn
A truly wonderful property. Views (when not misty) are to die for! A perfect home from home for our Festive visit to see family. After travelling, it was super to be greeted with a lovely hamper, a welcoming letter, lovely homely/exquisite touches and milk in the fridge. Our dog Bounty was not forgotten either and received treats also. Keith and Sue have truly set the bar very high for those wishing to venture to Matlock and itâ??s surroundings for a holiday. It was idyllic in Winter; must be fabulous in the Summer with the doors open and dining Al fresco. We even managed to squeeze in a visit to Matlockâ??s Christmas fair. Magical trip and will most definitely return but I assume bookings will come in thick and very fast. Once you have experienced this property, you will want to go back. Need to book quickly. Thank you Keith and Sue for a simply marvellous few days. Perfect in every way!
David
The cottage is very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen and excellent walk-in shower. We had a cold week in mid-November and the house could have been warmer at times. Location near the centre of the Peak District means that access to most places is no more than 30-45 minutes away. Haddon Hall ,Chatsworth and Cromford Mills are all quite close and Matlock is less than 2 miles away for shops, restaurants and supermarket. The Hope valley and Castleton are about 45 minutes away. The cottage has an excellent panoramic view across the Derwent valley and at warmer times of the year the picnic table in the garden would be a great place for al-fresco meals. There is a short driveway to park one car, though access is quite restricted for larger vehicles and needs care, alternatively parking on the road is usually possible.
Chris
Lovely stay at Apple Tree View, perfect spot for exploring Peak District. With lovely waterfall walk from the door. Wonderful views of The Two Dales from open plan kitchen/conservatory room. Keith & Sue were lovely and on hand with plenty of useful local recommendations. Woyld gihly recommend this property.
Tw
Nice property, road was steep and difficult with two cars. No street parking as it was congested by owners of other properties. Otherwise very clean and well stocked with utensils and china etc.
Bryan
Excellent property, beautifully laid out with comfortable furnishings and fittings. There is an Accessibility Assessment available as the owner has completed one but the booking company do not provided it. THEY SHOULD and they should ask for one for all the properties they manage. This property was great for a 92yo with mobility issues and a small Rollator could be used inside. The walk-in shower was excellent.
Chris
Having stayed in various properties across the UK I believe this to be the very best. The views are stunning, the proximity to places of interest, local shops and pubs was just right - not too far or too close. The property itself is well equipped, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. The enclosed garden was just right for our dog, with secure gates, somewhere to bask in the sun and hide in the shade. The Basket of goodies for humans and dog was much appreciated as was the welcome letter and visit from Keith, the owner. We will definitely be returning next year.
Sharon
Staying at this property is a real treat. Everything is of an exceptionally high standard with lovely hosts. The views are amazing and it's a great location to explore the Peak District. The garden is perfect for dogs too, in fact our dog loved it so much she didn't want to leave!
Michael
A perfect holiday cottage with excellent views and close to many local attractions. The cottage was very well equipped and everything was in good working order.
Paul
Lovely cottage in lovely location. Well equipped and very clean and presentable
Debra
Wow wow what a view you could never tire of looking at, we loved it. The sun /glass room is amazing and straight onto the decking. A fabulous kitchen all appliances high end and easy to use. Lots of utensils we did not miss anything. Beds lovely and comfy and the walk in shower was fantastic especially for our elderly parents. The house was very clean and tidy when we arrived. There is lots to visit and see around the area. We all had a lovely time even our Dog who loved the garden. We will be back thank you
Debra Pearl
A lovely cottage done to a high spec. View is outstanding. The driveway is challenging. Not as pet friendly as I had wished, only allowed in the tiled areas and garden is not secure
Michael
Apple Tree View is one of the best holiday lets in which we have stayed, in over 20 years of taking holidays in the UK. The property is 5 star for presentation, equipment, comfort and furniture. The location and surrounding area is stunning and we spent most of our time on the decking area, chilling and admiring the view, The owner, Keith, is very helpful and made every effort to resolve a minor problem. There are plenty of restaurants in the area serving reasonably priced menus : Barringtons, The Grouse & Claret and if your pleasure is Fish & Chips, then Matlock Bath will leave you spoilt for choice. Hopefully we would love to return.
Hilary
Fabulous place to stay, had everything we could possibly need. Attention to detail was perfect, decor and design spot on and the view was incredible.
Barbara
We absolutely loved the cottage and the view was amazing! it was a great area and lovely walks from the door. Really nice personalised note from the owners on arrival and a lovely welcome hamper which was very much appreciated! The cottage was really well equipped and the bed was soooo comfy! Our working cocker spaniel loved the garden and even though it was early April the garden was looking great! We would love to see the plants in full summer bloom.
Carol
This is an exceptional property, a real home away from home. It is stocked with everything you could possible require while on holiday. It is a very warm property & we never needed the heating on while we were there in late March early April. It has wonderful views over the Darley Dale. Great location for Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall & other historic houses.
Duncan
A lovely house and good location within Matlock / Darley Dale - perfect dog walks either from the door or a short drive.
Christopher
This is one of the best properties we've ever stayed at. Beautiful and spacious with stunning views to the south. The cottage was fitted out to a very high standard. There was a separate entrance hall with sink and plenty of space, great for when you come back from a muddy walk. The glazed living and kitchen area was stunning, and very cozy due to underfloor heating. The kitchen itself had everything. The bedrooms were lovely and the bed supremely comfortable! The gardens were interesting and well kept. Easy travelling to places like Bakewell, Buxton, Chatsworth. Matlock and Matlock Bath are great places to spend a day. I recommend this cottage unreservedly.
Deborah
Spacious bungalow with elevated views from the back, and an ideal location as a base for tourists. So much to see and do in the area. The Bungalow itself was clean & warm (we stayed in January), inside is modern with a lovely large kitchen extension with a little sofa to sit and enjoy the views. There is a separate snug living room with a log fire too. Plenty of seating outside also in the terraced wrap around garden. We had everything we needed for our stay, from soft towels and comfortable beds to a much appreciated welcome basket of goodies. We hope to return in the summer months to make the most of the garden!
Jason
Lovely stay in nice part of the lower Peaks and close to chatsworth estate and villages. Excellent dog walks through hillside and streams along the next street up from the cottage.
Hayley
Lovely cottages with great views. Well equipped too!
