The Cottage Elton Reviews

Sandra
Lovely cosy cottage, conservatory brilliant but stairs precarious, not recommended for older or tall people or toddlers but otherwise recommended
Margaret
Lovely cosy cottage in an excellent location. Bed so comfy after day walking. We were disappointed there were no freezer facilities, not even freezer box in fridge. A big bonus for us was being able to start walks of various lengths from the village. Very friendly locals.
Louise
Perfect location, friendly neighbour and villagers, private cottage and garden. Home from home and would 100% definitely come back
Daniel
Beautiful and cosy little cottage in a lovely quiet village close to lots of places to visit and a perfect base for exploring the area. Owner and everyone in the village were friendly and helpful. Private garden to front was well used and lots of walks to be had from the front door. Smart TV and wifi worked well with half decent mobile signal. Kitchen well supplied and a cake and brew making gear provided on arrival and very welcome. Double bed was super comfy and shower nice and powerful. Bakewell, Matlock, Chatsworth and plenty of other spots 15-20mins drive with great range of supermarkets, cafes and pubs. Highly recommend Chatsworth gardens for a day out and Ilam Hall was lovely. Lots of prehistoric sites in the area, Nine Sisters, Minninglow, Arbor Low and great photos to be had from Chrome Hill near Langnor. All in a great holiday for man and dog and would be happy to come back.
Claire
First visit to the area and this cosy cottage is perfectly situated. Everything we needed in a lovely village.
John
The Cottage at Elton was very comfortable with a cosy very efficient wood burner in the lounge,a modern bathroom, well equipped modern kitchen and enclosed garden, ideal for our dog. The TV was very modern,(p'haps to modern for luddites like us!!) The cottage was near to an excellenr community shop in the next village,Winster,Winster also has an excellent pub,The Miners Standard which was very welcoming to dogs and the food was very varied and interesting. The cottage was in easy walking distance of walks like Stanton Moor or the long distance footpath near Robin Hoods Stride, nearby; also local attractiond like Matlock and Cromford are easily accessible from the cottage
