Bosing Barn Reviews

Paula
Excellent, spotless, very helpful owner, nothing to complain about other than my comment above.
Denise
Bosing Barn was the perfect venue for our weekâ??s holiday in Derbyshire. We really enjoyed looking out on to the rolling countryside in which it is set, and inside the fittings and furnishings are tasteful and comfortable. It is very well equipped and included everything we needed. It is well located with good transport links to the many beauty spots of the Derbyshire Peaks and Dales, lots of picturesque towns and villages and also many places of historic interest. We very much looked forward to returning to the barn after a days exploration and it was a real treat to have a warm welcome each time from the very friendly dogs.
Angela
A wonderful opportunity to relax and enjoy the benefits of the Derbyshire countryside. Excellent accommodation with the bonus of a welcome from friendly dogs who became great playmates to our 10 year old granddaughter.
Malcolm
Fabulous setting. Tranquil and unspoiled. Cottage was spacious and comfortable. Perfect for two couples with each having the benefit of a separate wing. Attractive decor and furnishings. Dogs provided great entertainment and homely environment. Red Lion pub within walking distance an added bonus
Louisa
A lovely barn conversion on a working horse livery stables. Very friendly owners, (and dogs), very comfortable accommodation for four, with two lovely bedrooms and very good living areas. Sunny outside spaces, with BBQ and comfortable seating. No phone signal, but good wifi. An enjoyable break.
Andrew
Great location well equipped . A jem of a finder.
Beryl
Bosing Barn is a lovely barn conversion in a pretty, quiet location. A good selection of kitchen equipment and garden furniture. Large spacious rooms. Good friendly welcome from the owner and her dogs, who we loved.
Pat
Loved all of it! We will be back!
Rose
A lovely cottage very comfortable in a beautiful place
Jason
Great location, quiet and peaceful. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and felt very comfortable in the farm environment. So much nice scenery and walks nearby and comfortable just to relax in the barn if you need a well earned rest.
Christine
A lovely presented barn. Lots of character and the layout was ideal for two couples with private fantastic shower rooms. The kitchen was one of the best we'd stayed in with lots of equipment. The lounge area was well laid out with a homely feel. The beds were comfortable and the bedding of good quality. I liked that dogs were not allowed in the bedrooms. We took our dog which slept in the lounge in a pen we had taken. The owners dogs were very friendly and loved to visit. We had a lovely meal in the village pub which was in walking distance. Would recommend this accommodation.
Christine
Host was very welcoming and the barn was lovely
Moira
Absolutely lovely property in a perfect spot. Lovely and quiet with plenty of walks on the doorstep. I was a little worried that my dog would find the number of dogs that the owner had a challenge but they couldn't have been nicer. The owner was also very respectful and made sure that only a few dogs were out at any time. All in all, loved it. Great location, great property, hope to return soon
John
Very nice place we had a very resting time

The cottage is very comfortable and well kept. The kitchen area is well stocked with everything you need. Having a full size fridge freezer was very helpful. We arrived earlier than expected and the owner greeted us and made us feel very welcome. A lovely arrival tray with tea, coffee and a bakewell cake was a lovely touch. We slept very well in the comfortable beds. The patio area is large and has comfortable garden furniture, and we enjoyed sitting outside in the morning and evening for coffee and dinner. The owner has 8 dogs, all are very well behaved and very playful. Our daughter really enjoyed playing with them. There is a weber BBQ, with BBQ utensils you just need to bring the charcoal. We found the linen and towels to be of very good quality. In fact there was nothing that did not feel premium. The Red Lion pub is a very short walk and has great food. Shops are about 10min drive away. This really is a peaceful place to stay with great hosts.
Sandra
Sadly this lovely cottage holiday was spoilt by 2 main factors: 1. The cottage is only accessible through the livery stable yard (cottage listing just stated â??adjacent to livery stablesâ?? which is not quite the same thing) 2. The owner lets their dogs (6, I think) roam freely (and â??the grounds are not enclosedâ??) so even in the â??patio and garden area for visitors sole useâ??. The free roaming dogs severely limited our use of the â??gardenâ?? as we did not â??feel comfortableâ?? sitting outside with our own dog, just in case the owners dogs came. On another note, the listing states the owner lives â??adjacent to the cottageâ?? they actually live in the lower section of the cottage.
Elizabeth
A beautifully appointed property, very clean and comfortable. Great hosts, can thoroughly recommend.
Christopher
The owner was very attentive and went above and beyond to make the stay amazing. Coffee and milk was provided along with other items to welcome us. The accommodation was first class and good value for money. I can't rate this highly enough.
David
Bosing Barn was a great place to stay. Plenty of local walks with a few starting in the village all with lovely views. The barn is a really good conversion and well planned and furnished very nicely. In a quiet spot, but handy for The Red Lion which we highly recommend. You do need to be comfortable with dogs as the owners have a few who are all very friendly. We had a great time and would not hesitate to go back.
Stuart
What a gem this is. We couldnâ??t believe how beautifully presented this accommodation is. It was far better than we expected for the price. Very comfortable and a fantastic log burner to keep us cosy. Itâ??s tucked away at the end of a quiet lane and looking over fields. The hosts were extremely friendly as is the whole village. The Red Lion is a great local pub serving basic, but good, pub grub and local brews. Highly recommended.
Sally
Fabulous accommodation and hosts were lovely. Everything was clean and of very high standards. Lovely quiet rural setting
Katherine
Lovely, characterful, well-appointed cottage in a good location for exploring the Derbyshire Dales. Everything one would need for a comfy stay was provided with good modern kitchen and bathrooms. Overall cleanliness was OK but it felt like it needed a deep clean in places - oven and fridge needed a wipe out (old food left in fridge and freezer), wall lights and shades were thick with dust, lounge rug was very dirty. Most disappointing was the outdoor space. It looked very tired and neglected - lawn unmown, pots empty, BBQ rusty, paving weedy and cushions in the outdoor store were so dirty we couldn't use them to sit out. It's worth noting that the "garden" is not enclosed and is open to the stable yard which is quite busy with horses, horse owners and dogs which might be an issue for some folks with their own dogs or small children (was fine for us as we had neither). Would be happy to recommend - just fell short in terms of upkeep but easily resolved.
Victoria
A wonderful cottage, set down a lane. Very well appointed, friendly owners. If you like animals, you will love it, as there are stables and its very dog friendly. Footpaths leave from the cottage, so you can explore the surrounding villages. There's a local pub, that serves local beers and ales. Home cooked food. There is no shop in the village, so if you need supplies you'll need to pop to Ashbourne. We can recommend the chippy there.
Nick
Superb accommodation and lovely friendly owners on site, with all their lovely animals, especially the dogs!
Lynda
Lovely barn in a quiet out of the way corner of the village. Somewhere to switch off and relax.
Deborah
Beautiful cottage, wonderful setting
