The location of the cottage is perfect for visiting Bakewell and Matlock and the Peak District in general. We have been to Swallows Nest a few times now and it is an amazing place. We love seeing the Birds, Pheasants, Squirrels in the garden. There are Bird Feeders and you can fill them up from the bag of food that is in the Cottage. Swallows Nest has everything you need, Fridge Freezer, Cooker, Microwave, Dishwasher, TV, DVD player, Log Burner. Bathroom has a lovely walk in shower - very powerful. Plenty of drawer space in bedroom, wardrobe with coat hangers, Hairdryer. There are Books in the living room cupboard should you be a reader. If you require any assistance the owners are only next door and they are very friendly. There are two lovely pubs within walking distance, The Druid Inn and the Red Lion, they both do fabulous food. There are places to walk in the area too should you wish. Thereâ??s a Bus Stop on the Main Street that will take you into Bakewell (not sure of timetable but there is one at the Bus Stop). All in all we have found ourselves a little Gem and canâ??t wait to book again.

Swallow Nest is the ideal place to relax. It is an annexe to the owners property and it has everything you need to make your stay wonderful. If you need anything just ask Andrew and he will gladly help. We love watching the Birds and Wildlife that visit the garden. Pheasants, Squirrels and an array of Birds are always about. There are two Public Houses within walking distance (The Druid Inn and the Red Lion), both serve gorgeous food and of course drink. The friendliness of the staff is the reason we return to this area. Plenty of walks to do if you like to explore, cottage has leaflets etc so you can see whatâ??s on offer. This place is amazing

Swallow's Nest cottage is perfectly formed, comfortable and the owner is a friendly, helpful host. This is our second holiday in beautiful Birchover, which says it all! An especial delight is the variety of wildlife- notably birds- you can watch while having breakfast walks from the door are excellent, and there's a reasonable bus service to Bakewell or Matlock if you want to be environmentally friendly.

I spent a wonderful 5 nights at 'Swallows Nest'. It was the perfect base for exploring the Peak District. The owner welcomed me and the moment I stepped into the property I felt at home. It was cosy & clean. It's very comfortable, well equipped and so tranquil. The only sound you can hear is birdsong, the owner left me some seeds for the bird table. It was a joy to sit in the recliner and watch the birds and a squirrel too! Highly recommend Swallows Nest for a relaxing break!
