It sits overlooking the village green alongside the River Wye and the historic Sheepwash Bridge. The village itself has a restaurant, pub, tearoom and village shop all within easy walking distance.

Chatsworth House (6 miles) and Haddon Hall (6 miles) are top days out. Monsal Dale (2 miles) is superb walking country. Bakewell (3 miles) has shops and cafés. Buxton (14 miles) offers an opera house and spa town atmosphere.
