Railway Cottage Reviews

Alice
We had a wintery weekend at the cottage, it is beautifully decorated to a very high standard, clean, stunning views and was very warm with the underfloor heating despite the cold weather. We had the fire lit too which made for a cosy weekend! The welcome pack was appreciated. There were four of us + a dog and the cottage was perfect for this. The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and we did all of our own cooking. Great facilities for storing bikes, washing the dog etc. We made the most of the high peak trail and did plenty of walks and bike rides during our stay. We will be returning, hopefully in the warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor space (I can already imagine a glass of wine in the sun at that outdoor seating area, what a view!) Thanks so much, we loved it!
Andrew
A delightful experience & a beautiful cottage. Absolutely loved it. Thank you.
Lesley Anne
Beautifully decorated and well appointed. Fabulous views. Very comfortable.
Marie
Absolutely amazing place, lovely inside and out, well equipped we didn't want for anything. Lots of walks in the area, and places to visit.
Julie
Loved the cottage so comfortable & thought the PIR lights were great. Only slight downside was the 4 diggers at the back of the property on the 2 days which were very noisy. We were out most of the day but did stop you sitting /eating outside as they were so noisy. Obviously very quiet on a weekend but could have been a problem if weâ??d wanted to be outside. Wouldnâ??t stop us visiting again but thought you should be aware.
Fiona
Absolutely perfect
Niki
Stunning views as far as the eye can see, with amazing sunsets and sunrises.
Barbora
Lovely place in an amazing setting with beautiful views, although, the path leading to the property is part of a public footpath so be prepared for strangers passing by, more often in the summer. The house is surrounded by a low stone wall fence and a gate so is secure for small to medium size dogs. As the car park is a bit of a walk from the house, there is a trolley for your luggage which was very useful. Well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds, everything is high quality. Log burner adds to the calm and relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Beth
Lovely stay in a lovely cottage! Thank you very much for a wonderful holiday.
Ciska
The Railway Cottage is a beautiful cottage situated in a stunning location. The cottage contained everything, and more, that we could have wanted or needed for our stay. We had a great week!
Jonathan
We had a great week at this cottage. The facilities provided were great, and the garden is a perfect place to relax. The bed was extremely comfortable with the only major downside was the slow/weak wifi, however it depends on your situation whether this will bother you or not. Overall we had an amazing time, enjoying the scenic views and the local trails. Both the Knockerdown pub and The Miners Arms are great local pubs, however be mindful it is quite expensive with a simple pub meal coming to around £17.
Nicola
Railway Cottage has all the features you would want to make you feel you are staying somewhere special. We loved being right on the trail, and sitting in front the property enjoying the amazing view and now and again saying hi to passing cyclists and walkers. The interior is charming, it is equipped with every you need from cooking a 3 course family meal to an alfresco BBQ. The house is very clean and linens all freshly arranged. If you are worried about car parking, donâ??t, you leave the car a little away from the house but itâ??s only a short walk on a well gravel like path.
George
Excellent cottage. We had a great time!
Marianne
A beautiful cottage, very well equipped with everything you would need. Karen was very helpful. We were unlucky in that we didnâ??t have hot water for the first two days and although this was partly rectified the water was never hot enough, The trolley to bring our stuff in was broken so it was a difficult trek to get into the accommodation with our belongings. The bathroom was chilly as the towel rail needed bleeding. These niggles apart the cottage is beautiful and well equipped in a stunning if remote location.
