The Potting Shed Reviews

Andrew
Really beautiful views, lovely little place, it's really cosy, loved it for our honeymoon - and first holiday on our own since having our baby
Christine
A lovely, quirky cottage with fantastic views of the area. Had everything required for a comfortable holiday, the bed was super comfy (although a small portable heater would be nice to have). Great location to get out and about and a lovely pub with home made food only about 300 yards away. Would definitely recommend.
Sarah
The Potting Shed had everything you could need but the furniture, towels and bedding were tired and in need of an upgrade. They were clean though which was good and the bed was comfy. Disappointed it is not mentioned about the main road as we would probably have not booked had we known. The road was generally quiet at night which was a blessing.
Louise
Highly recommend this little cottage, small but everything needed. Lovely location, great pub and fish and chips not far away where the best! Would definitely come back again but probably leave my daughter at home and bring the dog.
Amanda
Not any good if you are disabled. Peace and quiet.
Ann
We thought the cottage was very well thought out. Lots of things in a small space. The road outside could do with being mentioned not only being steep in both directions but dangerous to walk with the traffic. Certainly not suitable for disabled.
Margaret
Lovely setting and views. The potting shed was as described small but really cosy and so well equipped. The underfloor heating worked well to keep us warm and comfortable. The garden was beautiful and the owners very friendly.
Nikki
Small but well equipped and cosy. Suited me and the dog well. Nice welcome pack of milk and chocolate. Easy self check in and good instructions to find the potting shed.
Adam
A really nicely situated bijou place to stay and keep warm, having good local pubs if you don't want to cook!! Stunning views across Dovedale. We will return!!
Neil
A well presented and maintained cottage ideal for a couple on a short stay basis. Close to a steep hill so take care when pulling in or out. Helpful owners.
David
Small but well thought about , great secure garden, parking and lovely location.
Sue
A very small but compact and well equipped cottage in the beautiful countryside with some amazing views. We received a welcome pack on arrival which was most thoughtful and welcome. I always take a supply of hand wash, cling film, fairy liquid, foil etc etc and toiletries but all of this was provided. There were a variety of pubs and eateries, the closest of these being a five minute stroll down the hill, The Pack Horse. The food there was good and reasonably priced so too was the drinks. We also ate at the Cheshire Cheese in Longnor and here too both the food and drinks were good and reasonably priced. There's lots of wonderful places to visit in the area and we enjoyed the lovely Peak district scenery. The owners were available for any queries but left us in privacy.
David
I thought the cottage, although small, was very comfortablle, cosy and welcoming with glorious views.
Kate
The Potting Shed was a cosy little place to stay in a lovely part of the world. I loved the fact that the crockery in the property was all made by the cottage owner, who runs a pottery on site. The view from The Potting Shed is beautiful and we did some good walks straight from the door. We really enjoyed eating at The Packhorse Pub, which is very friendly, does excellent home-cooked food and was a mere five-minute walk away.
Margaret
Quite a bit smaller than we imagined and we had to be very organised with our belongings in order to be comfortable for the week. That said the backdrop and garden were a delight many birds visited and the view just stunning at the front of the property. The local pub was just delightful, with amazing food. Visiting in the winter was a little problematic as despite there being a dehumidifier in situ the condensation was constant, especially in the little shower room where the wall behind the toilet was soaking wet and peeling .The underfloor heating was a lovely bonus and the bed extremely comfortable. I would recommend the Potting Shed for a short stay
