Terry
Woodpecker Cottage is a charming property set in a peaceful location and is well equipped to provide for a self catering holiday. A nice bottle of wine, some freshly laid eggs from the owners chickens and even some biscuits for the dogs were a nice touch adding to the warm welcome. Two lovely pubs with excellent food were within walking distance. We had a wonderful holiday and would recommend Woodpecker Cottage as a base for a break in the Peak District.
Michael
Perfect location. Be mindful there are two other cottages adjoined and privacy at times is limited if commuting between cars and cottages. Host kind enough to let us in early too.
Brian
This charming cottage boasts a perfect location, offering easy access to breathtaking hillwalking trails and a variety of nearby tourist attractions. It's an ideal getaway for those seeking both adventure and exploration. The cottage itself is homely and comfortable.
Lorna

Stayed with my husband, parents and 2 pooches. Warm welcome of fresh flowers, fresh eggs, and a bottle of wine. Cottage is lovely and well equipped. Location is great. 15 minute walk into village, with 2 pubs, very friendly staff and dog friendly. Would definitely recommend
Derek
A lovely comfortable cottage with just a few maintenance niggles. In a great location for walking. Easy parking off-road and pleasant outdoor seating areas in the courtyard. Two good pubs with excellent food within easy walking distance (torch needed if out after dark).
Carol
Well equipped comfortable cottage.
Katie
Stayed in this cottage for a long birthday weekend and it was absolutely perfect, some beautiful walks right outside your door and a lovely pub 10 minute walk away. You can tell it is a really well thought out cottage with all supplies you could think of provided! Really lovely to also book the nuthatch cottage if a big group to share the courtyard.
Tim
A lovely stable block conversion in a stunning location. Great for four adults or a family of four. Provision for outside dining was excellent and the flowers in the garden were beautiful.
Linzi
This cottage does exactly what it says on the tin. The courtyard and surrounding countryside are just fabulous. Well equipped cottage and comfortable. Very friendly and accommodating hosts.
Mo
A very well appointed cottage. Very friendly owner and a much appreciated Welcome Pack. An enjoyable stay.
Elaine
We had a fabulous holiday in this idyllic place. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped. There are lovely, well thought out seating areas in the courtyard. When we arrived we found flowers and eggs left for us - a lovely welcoming touch. The information pack provided by the owners was very comprehensive. The location of the cottage is perfect for exploring the Peaks. I have no idea why the previous review for this cottage was so negative and unpleasant. In my view it is completely unjustified and at odds with all previous reviews. The picture that it paints is very far from the case and all the more questionable when the owners live on hand, next door and couldnâ??t be more helpful! We would definitely return here and highly recommend everything about Woodpecker Cottage.
Carol
Fridge and cooker we're not cleaned. Both require upgrading. Can't read cooker dial function and no button on the ignition. There was a screwdriver and screws left on the table. Job to fix the kitchen door left unfinished. Outside furniture lacked care, a simple brush after the winter would have surficed. Bathroom floor requires attention, shower head dirty and overall requires updating. All things that are grumbles which didn't spoil our stay but we didn't expect given the ratings and price.
Pat
We had a really enjoyable stay the accommodation was marvellous the scenery was second to none The information provided by the owners was extremely helpful and helped us to enhanced our stay The owners were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them
