Sheldon Barn Reviews

Angela
Well appointed, clean cottage with comfortable beds, in a good location for walking and decent pubs for food nearby. Hospitable hosts on site and good private off road parking. Outside space would be nice in summer but we visited in winter and found the need for extra blankets/hot water bottles to be really comfortable if reading /TV. All appliances worked including Wifi/phone signal/heating/showers etc. A welcome pack of essential local produce and fresh floral table decoration was a thoughtful touch, much appreciated.
Christopher
Really lovely peaceful and comfortable accommodation in a fabulous location. It was perfect for us as a couple doing outdoor things - including cycling - where a very handy (or essential) bike store was provided.
Margaret
We very much enjoyed our week. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Welcome pack much appreciated.
Paul
Really nice nice place to stay. Very clean and a brilliant location. We enjoyed all the home made goodies and fresh eggs.
Julie
We stayed at Sheldon Barn with our two elderly mothers (86 & 81) and there was ample room in this beautiful property for us all. The accommodation is perfect and has everything you could possibly need. Mike and Caroline were the perfect hosts and very helpful when we needed anything. Upon arrival at the barn we had the most lovely welcome pack and Carolineâ??s cakes were to die for. Definitely worth a visit 10 out of 10
John
Delightful cottage run by charming & very helpful owners; nothing was too much trouble.
John
Well appointed and spotlessly. An excellent centre for walking / exploring the White Peak. The owners were helpful and friendly without being intrusive. We were made to feel very welcome with cakes, bread, eggs and milk.
Patricia
Sheldon Barn is a very comfortable & convenient place to stay - this is our return visit no 4!
Helen
Sheldon Barn is a good base to travel to all parts of the Peak District easily and plenty of nice pubs with good food minutes drive away too. Has all you would need for a good stay with a well stocked kitchen and good living space and comfortable bedrooms. Lovely home made goodies etc in a welcome pack and oodles of helpful information on whole area. Bathrooms/well showers mainly, were a little troublesome but hopefully may be remedied by owners? Great pub a few mins walk away at end of the village The Bulls Head (huge portions lol) and great cafe next to it where we had breakfast on check out day. A nice quiet spot to stay!
Kevin
We had a good stay despite rather mixed weather. The accommodation is mostly very comfortable and well appointed, but the bathrooms are rather dated and the headroom in the showers is limited - OK for us, but might not suit a tall person. The owners live at their B&B next door and were very helpful and welcoming. There are plenty of walks on the doorstep and nearby, with maps provided, The EV charging point is at the rear of the barn and easy to use.
Alan
A very cosy, warm and comfortable cottage and an ideal location for us to explore the peak district. Lovely hosts, the fresh bread, cakes and homemade jam was a very welcome touch.
Alison
Lovely and relaxing accommodation. Good parking. Highly recommend. Very nice couple who were brilliant hosts. Thank you for a lovely week.
Brian
Sheldon Barn Cottage was a very comfortable and well designed barn conversion. Location in Monyash was perfect for exploring this part of the Peak District with great walks and lovely towns and villages on the doorstep. Owners were very helpful and a nice welcoming pack.
Kathryn
Great accommodation close to attractions. The cottage was very well equipped and the beds and bedding were extremely comfortable.
Colin
Really comfortable accommodation, well equipped and in a beautiful location. Very helpful, friendly hosts. Highly recommend.
Hazel
Cottage excellent - only thing I would have preferred a washing machine rather than a dishwasher but that's a personal choice
Paul
Excellent base to explore the Peak District. Pub and cafe in village have very good food.
