Kestrel Cottage Reviews

Helena
We absolutely loved that it was dog friendly and not just a suggestion. It made us feel at ease about our stay and enjoy everything that was on offer! The walks were amazing!!!! And on our return the cottage enveloped us in a homely way that meant we could pop our feet up and take time to unwind. The bath was stunningâ?¦We loved it!! We had the most amazing time and are looking to rebook with our adult children so we can enjoy family time.
Christopher

Kestrel cottage was lovely, well presented with everything you needed. So welcoming on arrival doors were open, lights on , music playing flowers from their garden, treats for the dogs, eggs from the hens and a bottle of wine. Lovely scenery with lovely walks , local places to visit. I will certainly be returning

Delightful, cosy, well appointed and great location - everything you'd want in a holiday cottage in the Peak District. Definately recommended!
Bridie
We had a great stay, the house was warm and inviting and the owners had thought of absolutely everything. The under floor heating and log burner were amazing after a walk across Eccles pike. The children had an amazing time exploring the area and enjoyed the amazing roll top bath. The history of Eccles House fascinated us too. We loved our long weekend in Kestrel cottage and can't wait to come back with our dogs next time.
Julie
This was by far the most fantastic cottage we have ever stayed in! Everything had been carefully thought out by the owner. The welcome gift of fresh eggs, wine and flowers was so lovely. The history of the renovations provided in the handbook was very interesting too. It reminded me of staying in a Landmark Trust property. I will recommend it to everyone!
Gail
The property had everything that you would need I would imagine it would be a bit small for four adults though but so good that they now allow up to three dogs as it was just me and my daughter plus three dogs we found it was perfect will be booking again for next year
Rachel
Lovely quiet cottage with lovely gardens. Well equipped kitchen and big bathroom. Would suggest bins in the bedrooms. Great walks for dogs within a couple of minutes walk. If you're bringing dogs please note there are no private gardens for each cottage and the gate to the road is left open .
J
The cottage was really clean and comfortable and the smell of freshly laundered towels and bedding was noticeable. Fresh flowers, eggs and wine were also provided as welcome gifts. The location of the cottage along a quiet track meant that there was no traffic noise yet two excellent local pubs and an excellent coffee shop were within a 5 minute drive. The location was within easy access of all the major Peak District attractions.
Clodagh
Ons of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Located perfectly to explore locally with fantastic walks & pubs close by. Host were fantastic. I almost don't want to tell the world how good it was so I can keep it to myself!!

Caroline
Kestrel Cottage was a perfect getaway for us! The little touches such as doggy treats and human treats on arrival made a huge difference! The Cottage had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the bath was amazing after walking up Eccles Pike. The log burner made us feel very cosy in the evening! Perfectly located for exploring bakewell buxton and edale! We found the owners really kind and helpful especially the visitors information book!!!
