Markeygate Cottage is a 17th-century stone cottage in Tideswell, sitting at the heart of the White Peak in the Peak District, Derbyshire. Original oak beams and limestone walls give it a genuinely old feel. The wood burner makes evenings here seriously cosy after a day out on the hills. It's entered through a pretty shared courtyard with climbing roses and your own outdoor dining set.
Tideswell is a proper working village. You've got pubs, two restaurants, cafes, a butcher, a baker and a greengrocer all within walking distance. The White Peak surrounds you with limestone scenery in every direction gentle dales to the south and open peaks to the north.
