A lovely comfortable stay for two couples. Ann was lovely and welcomed us with bread eggs homemade jam and a bottle of wine. How kind. The house was an easy walk into town and a steep walk back! The wood burner was very effective. Beautiful view across the valley. Lots of places visit. Great central location.

Box Tree Cottage is located close to local amenities in Matlock and enjoys great views over the town and country side. The owner proactively got in contact with us to answer any questions we may have had and confirmed the location of the keys. On arrival key supplies were available so we did not need to go to the shops immediately. We found the cottage to be very comfortable and comprehensive instructions for the cottage were available together with lots of guides and maps for the local area. Overall our stay at Box Tree Cottage worked out very well, providing an excellent base to visit the Peak District.
Julian
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was a quiet, private location with a lovely view from the terrace. The bedroom with a separate entrance was ideal for travelling with our 24 year old son and gave us privacy and independence when required. In addition, the owner was very helpful, friendly and left us a really good section of provisions and a lovely homemade cake.
Anne
A fabulous place to stay with a spectacular view! The cottage is wonderful, has everything you need and the welcome pack is the best. Ann is a lovely, friendly host.
Catherine
LOVELY COMFORTABLE COTTAGE WITH BEAUTIFUL COUNTRYSIDE VIEWS DESPITE BEING ON EDGE OF TOWN, THANKS TO BEING UP A STEEP HILL. VERY WELL-EQUIPPED AND IDEAL FOR US WITH MOTHER IN LAW AS THE LAYOUT GAVE US ALL PRIVACY AND SPACE. FRIENDLY, HELPFUL OWNER. MATLOCK IS A GOOD LOCATION FOR BAKEWELL, BUXTON AND THE PEAKS, SO WE AHD A GOOD MIX OF PRETTY TOWNS/VILLAGES, HISTORIC HOUSES AND UNSPOILT COUNTRYSIDE.
Karen
Great accommodation although not a great location to walk back from Matlock as itâ??s on a very steep hill! Lovely to have home made cake and jam, eggs, bread, milk, butter and wine on arrival, meant we didnâ??t have to rush out to shop for breakfast the next day . Very comfortable and quiet cottage, thank you.
Judi
Beautiful cottage and idyllic location. The owner welcomed us and was really lovely and friendly. The welcome basket with all the essentials and a few treats was really thoughtful and lovely.
Mariken
It is a lovely place to stay, but due to its age and the location in a hill it is somewhat humid and therefore prone to woodlice. The views and peace and quiet were to die for. Owners very friendly and accommodating
