Knoll Reviews

Bridget
Very Cosy, comfortable cottage with fantastic views.
Nicholas
Great Location, well equipped. Couldn't find fault with anything. Really enjoyed my stay.
Celia
Perfect location with beautiful view and lovely walks. Comfortable and well equipped cottage. We look forward to returning as soon as possible.
Lesley
Knoll has a wonderful position, with views over the tops of the trees in the dale below. Bring binoculars!!
David
Access to the cottage was down a very steep slope that my wife and I, both 78, found very difficult to walk down. We had to park on the side of the road to unload the car. Fortunately we had our daughter and grandchildren with us, otherwise we would never have managed to get our possessions into the cottage. After unloading, we had to park in a car park about 200 yards away. Very inconvenient.
Margaret
I was disappointed to find a small concrete area for a garden. The dog felt trapped in this confined area and kept wanting to get out. Also we didnâ??t expect a long steep path down to the cottage.
Veronique
I would highly recommend this cottage. The setting was perfect with beautiful views, really friendly village and Great walks. Made for a really special holiday.
Bridget
Lovely Cottage very homey in a fantastic location
A
A very quiet cottage with beautiful views. Lovely location for walking and only a couple of minutes from nearby pubs.
Matthew
Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Nice that it's positioned off the main road, but access is down a steep path so not suitable for everyone. Cottage was well equipped and clean, a very comfortable base for our week in the Peak District.
Philip
Had a lovely stay at Knoll cottage, very comfortable, with all amenities, great view out front and ideal for traveling around the Peaks. Within walking distance of local pubs and local store which stocked most essentials. Access to cottage from road is by an inclined path, but once you have transferred your belongings in it's not a problem.
Dave
An absolutely lovely area down a short (quite steep) path. Itâ??s like you are in the trees due to the position on the hill side and is fab to eat breakfast out in the patio. Good facilities close to pubs and village shop, Worth experiencing.
Brian
Nice quiet location. Great for exploring the dales. Basic but everything you need.
Kim
We had problems flushing the toilet on numerous occasions. Also there was no enclosed grassy area for our dog. Otherwise all good.
Richard
The holiday cottage was in a good location and well equipped kitchen; plenty of space inside. But you should be mindful that entry is down a very steep slope so not good for anyone with mobility issues. The only negatives were that there was no BBQ as advertised, the shed for bikes was locked, the emergency contact had no contact details.
Margaret
Lovely location with beautiful walks nearby.
Sarah
Nice short stay in this cosy cottage. The footpath down to the river runs directly in front of the house, and the river downstream and especially upstream is beautiful. We saw a dipper which was a bonus. You can't hear anything from the cottage other than the river and birds. The village is a good hub to explore the Peak District from, with 3 pubs that we found, and a nice coffee shop in the YHA, bakery and post office/shop. Very steep path down to the cottage which wasn't a problem for us but may be worth bearing in mind if there are any mobility issues. The wood burner was a bonus and warmed the dining room area up quickly.
